Ministry Description-Women’s Ministry Leader
PurposeThe women’s ministry director serves to mobilize the women to establish the Kingdom of God in San Bernardino and beyond. She oversees ministries and initiates projects that will bless the women of San Bernardino, releasing the Kingdom of God in their lives.
Responsible to

Description of duties
Provide overall vision for the church’s ministry to women both inside and outside the congregation.
Serve as “champion” of ministry to, by, and for women to ensure that women’s ministry establishes the Kingdom of God in San Bernardino.
Recruit other members to the women’s ministry leadership team to assist in establishing the Kingdom of God in San Bernardino.
Serve as chair of women’s ministry leadership team.
Schedule, plan, and lead meetings of leadership team.
Survey and identify the needs of women both within the church and in the greater community.
Provide classes and training to meet identified needs, which may include seminars on topics such as stress management, grief recovery, tough parenting issues and parenting skills, abused women, single parenting, empty nest issues, dealing with teenagers, caring for aging parents, etc.
Recruit other women to serve as volunteer workers at women’s ministry programs, events, and activities.
Build meaningful relationships with other women’s ministry leaders to model the vision of deep, appropriate, and authentic relationships among women at all levels of involvement in the church.
Give direction and guidance to other women’s ministry leaders establishes the Kingdom of God in their communities.
Empower and unleash women’s ministry leaders to creatively lead and minister in their areas of responsibility.
Urge women in the church, individually and as a group, to serve both the church and in outreach to the community, nation, and world.
Work with pastoral staff to ensure that women’s ministry is an integral and active ministry within the church; serve as an advocate for women’s needs, concerns, and contributions.
Coordinate other activities, such as retreats, prayer breakfasts, mother-daughter events, and outreach activities to reach women in the greater community.

Possesses excellent communication skills and a sense of humor.
Has ability to identify and train other leaders.
Desires to see other women make commitments to follow Jesus and to grow in their faith.
Possesses some of the following gifts: administration, discernment, encouragement, faith, helps, hospitality, knowledge, leadership, mercy, shepherding, teaching, and/or wisdom.
